🦋Kim Cross & Mark DenHartigh✨

Some people write songs from imagination. Kim Cross and Mark DenHartigh write about real life.

As BMI songwriters, Kim and Mark bring two distinct voices together to create original music rooted in honest storytelling, faith, heartbreak, healing, humor, relationships, everyday life, and the moments people don’t always know how to put into words.

Kim’s songwriting is deeply shaped by life experience. After navigating profound loss, loving someone through addiction, rebuilding her life, and learning what it means to choose peace, songwriting became one of the most meaningful ways she could turn difficult chapters into something that might help someone else feel understood.

With more than 400 original songs written, Kim’s music often explores grief, resilience, empowerment, starting over, friendship, faith, healing, and finding joy again.

Mark brings a different perspective to the catalog. His songwriting often finds inspiration in the things happening all around us—relationships, humor, sports, fast cars, rodeos, faith, everyday observations, and the stories hidden inside ordinary life. He writes solo songs as well as collaborations with Kim, bringing his own personality, humor, and storytelling style to the music.

Together, their differences are part of what makes the collaboration work.

Some songs are emotional.
Some are funny.
Some are faith-driven.
Some are meant to make you think.
And some are simply meant to be turned up loud.

They also continue writing individually, allowing each songwriter to maintain their own voice while creating something different when they come together.

Two songwriters. Two perspectives. One shared goal:

To write songs people don’t just hear—but actually feel.

Their music is built around real stories, real emotions, and real life—the heartbreak, the healing, the laughter, the mistakes, the second chances, and everything in between.

Because sometimes the best songs are simply the things people have been thinking all along…

written out loud.
