Both Things Can Be True is one of my most personal songs. It’s about loving someone through addiction, finding the strength to leave, and realizing that healing doesn’t erase the love you once had. I don’t miss the person he became—I miss the man I fell in love with before the bottle changed everything.

This song is for anyone who’s ever had to grieve someone who was still alive, walk away from someone they never wanted to stop loving, or discover that peace and sorrow can exist side by side.

Sometimes healing isn’t about forgetting.
