I’m Looking at You Now (Single Song)

£0.75 (plus tax)

“I’m Looking at You Now” is my answer to Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes,” told from the woman’s side of the story.

She’s left a toxic relationship and found someone she wants to love. But when he kisses her shoulder in the dark, she gets as far as taking a breath before the words catch in her throat. He wonders if she’s thinking about the man who came before him. She’s trying to find the courage to tell him how much he means to her.

Set to fingerpicked guitar and soft pedal steel, this desert indie-country ballad follows her from practicing “I love you” alone in her car to asking him to leave the hall light on a little longer so she can finally say it to his face.
