The house got smaller, but my world grew wide. ❤️
Almost exactly a year ago, I walked away from my beautiful log home nestled in the woods, a 21-year marriage, and the life I thought I’d always have.
I traded it all for a 630-square-foot duplex and a future I couldn’t even begin to imagine.
I was scared. I was sad. I battled anxiety, uncertainty, and the heartbreak of starting over. But somewhere along the way, something incredible happened.
I started finding myself again.
In March, I began releasing songs I’d written, never imagining how dramatically my life would change or how far those songs might travel.
Today, I’m divorced, surrounded by an incredible family and amazing friends, both old and new, and watching a beautiful new chapter unfold before my eyes.
“A Year Ago” is about finding the courage to walk away, even when you have absolutely no idea what’s waiting on the other side.
It’s about heartbreak, healing, faith, freedom, and discovering that sometimes losing the life you thought you wanted leads you to the life you were always meant to live.
A year ago, I couldn’t see any of this coming.
And today, I wouldn’t trade my peace for anything. ❤️
