For Me and Only Me (Single Song)

I wrote this song about sitting in the driveway after a long day, with the engine off and the keys still in my hand, finally telling God what I want.

I want a man who’s glad it’s me walking through the door. Someone who’ll pull up another chair at Sunday dinner for one of our grandkids. Someone who’ll give eighty when I’ve only got twenty, and let me do the same for him when he’s worn down.

With fingerpicked acoustic guitar and a soft harmony in the final chorus, “For Me and Only Me” is a quiet prayer for that kind of love. It’s also a promise I’m making to myself. I won’t ever settle again for someone who doesn’t see what he has in me.
